Key Responsibilities
As an SME – Accounts Payable, you’ll handle end-to-end AP responsibilities while guiding the team towards efficiency and accuracy.
🔹 Reconcile and Review Supplier Statements
- Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure supplier accounts are accurate.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by cross-checking purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
🔹 Supplier Relationship Management
- Be the primary contact for supplier inquiries and disputes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors through professional communication.
🔹 Accounts Payable Process Improvement
- Identify process gaps and suggest automation or best practices.
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to enhance workflow and controls.
🔹 Payment Processing
- Prepare supplier payments in line with company policies and deadlines.
- Verify payment data for accuracy, authorization, and compliance.
🔹 Reporting and Analysis
- Generate accurate Accounts Payable reports using financial systems.
- Work on AP Rejection, SSA, SFA, and Ageing Reports for business insights.
- Provide analytical inputs to support management decisions.
🔹 Month-End Closing
- Ensure timely and accurate AP closure every month.
- Prepare reports and respond to audit queries.
🔹 Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with internal teams like Operations, Procurement, Treasury, and Finance.
- Coordinate with auditors and external stakeholders as required.
🔹 Ad-Hoc Responsibilities
- Adapt quickly to evolving business requirements.
- Support finance-related projects and initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should bring both technical expertise and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 💼 4–5 years of Accounts Payable experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory/SME role.
- 📃 Proven ability to mentor and guide a team.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and financial tools.
- Critical thinking and analytical ability.
- Precision, attention to detail, and organizational efficiency.
- Fluency in English (spoken & written).
